Busitema University Convocation
Our History
Establishment
In 2013, The Busitema Convocation Constitution was promulgated. Deriving its mandate form section 70 of Public Universities and other tertiary institutions’ Act 2001 as amended.
Leadership
The Convocation is headed by a chairperson and works with an Executive Committee of 15 other persons with the Academic registrar of the University being the General Secretary. The Convocation Secretariate is located at Busitema University, Main Campus. .
Purpose
The convocation was established To maintain and promote the social, ethical and intellectual image of Busitema University, To collaborate with other university convocations nationally, regionally and internationally to further our goals. But also act as a platform that avails scholarships and internships to students and alumni of Busitema University. .
Membership
Membership of convocation is open to all Alumni, members of staff who have been employed continuously at the University for at least two years, all members and former members of senate, all members and former members of council, all alumni of the colleges that was phased and transformed into busitema university, such other persons as shall be approved by council
FAQS
Any alumni, members of staff and well-wishers of Busitema University who expresses willingness to join the Convocation shall apply to the executive by filling in standard forms supplied by the Convocation.
Membership is effective upon payment of membership dues determined by the General Assembly from time to time.
All members is required to pay an annual subscription fee to the Convocation, the amount of which shall be proposed by the Executive and approved by the General Assembly from time to time.
