The Square of Excellence was inaugurated on June 24, 2022, by H.E. Rtd Major Jessica Alupo, the Vice President of Uganda, as a permanent homage to academic success and significant contributions at Busitema University. This extraordinary initiative, also referred to as the “Trees of Excellence,” is aimed at recognizing the top male and female graduates from every graduating class. Nestled on a one-acre site, the Square of Excellence gives these exceptional students the chance to plant a tree in celebration of their accomplishments, establishing a living tribute on campus.

Each tree is marked with a name tag that displays the graduate’s name, course, and faculty, enabling future generations to commemorate and honor their achievements. This initiative is intended to pay tribute to the commitment and effort of Busitema’s finest students and to motivate upcoming students to aspire for greater success in their academic endeavors.
